            07-Ghost is a fantasy manga written and illustrated by Yuki Amemiya and Yukino Ichihara. It is set in a fantasy world with different laws, kingdoms, gods and magic. Currently serialized in Monthly Comic Zero Sum, a shōjo manga magazine published monthly by Ichijinsha. In January 2009, seven bound volumes have been released. This manga has been licensed by Go! Comi for release in North America. 

            07-Ghost has been adapted into a drama CD. In April 2009, an anime adaptation, produced by Studio DEEN, made its premiere. 

            manga also won a double-first prize in the 3 Zero-Sum Comics Grand-Prix, meaning it was chosen for first place by the readers and editors, are very rare. 

Plot 

             Teito Klein is a former slave who is now attending the Imperial military academy due to his ability to use Barsburg Zaiphon, type of supernatural power. The ability is rare and thus very valuable. Teito is amnesia and does not remember anything from his past, but he has been traumatized and frequently recurring dream in which he saw a large church or castle and known but not familiar. 

             After one year at the academy, Teito prepares to take the graduation exam is very difficult. The night before the exam, Teito and the best (and only) friend, Mikage, swear they will never abandon each other if one needs assistance. Both of them pass the exam. The next day, Teito hear people talking about him; stopped to listen, he suddenly realizes that the speaker, Chief of Staff, Ayanami, is the man who killed a stranger in a dream, which is his father and the king destroyed Raggs Kingdom. Teito is found eavesdropping and tries to attack his father's killer, but quickly brought down by one of Ayanami's subordinates and sent to prison. Mikage comes to help him escape, only to find that Teito has managed to fight past his own keeper. Both fled the building but was cornered on a balcony. Teito pretends to hold Mikage hostage, threatening to kill him if the guards pursue him, thus making escape, even though he was injured in the blast that Ayanami directs Zaiphon him. Three bishops in the nearby 7th District discover the injured Teito and take him to the church to restore the District 7. Due to the laws of the District 7 sanctuary, as long as Teito stays in the church, the army can not arrest him. 

                 In time, it can be seen that Teito carries Eye of Mikhail, a powerful talisman for which his home country, Raggs Kingdom, was destroyed. This fact, as well as determining reunion with Mikage, catapults Teito into a quest for revenge against Barsburg Empire and for knowledge about his past. At the same time, his status as a carrier Eye of Mikhail throws him into the long-standing conflict between the evil Verloren and his enemies, the 07 Ghosts 

Setting 

                 The setting is fantasy. Barsburg Empire was divided into seven districts, each with its own cities, rulers, and culture. Each district also has a temple that is protected by the Spirit 07. 

Zaiphon

                  Zaiphon is the "miracle" of the Ghosts' world-07. Zaiphon is the ability to convert life energy into various forms of power. Zaiphon controlled by changing the strong emotions into energy, and the strength that comes from Zaiphon often take the form of words, though people may use weapons to channel Zaiphon. Those who have the ability to use Zaiphon rare and thought to be blessed by God. Each user's ability is different, and in many cases, reflect their nature. Zaiphon generally categorized into three types: 

Healing Zaiphon: People with healing Zaiphon able to heal wounds and share or transfer their Zaiphon to others. The characters are mainly using healing Zaiphon Labrador, Assistant Archbishop Bastien, Ouka, and Capella. 

Zaiphon attack: People with offensive Zaiphon can attack enemies and protect themselves from attacks directed at them. Characters that primarily use offensive Zaiphon Teito, Mikage, Ayanami, Hakuren, Frau, and Capella. 

Manipulation Zaiphon: People with Zaiphon manipulation (which is very rare) can move other objects at will. Castor uses Zaiphon types. 

It is possible to learn to use more than one version Zaiphon, but the people who managed to do that are few and far between. 

There are a variety of weapons that are used to manipulate Zaiphon, which became the most common bascule. With the bascule, people can channel their Zaiphon and use it to attack Cor. Various types Zaiphon has a different effect when used by bascule: those with healing Zaiphon can not directly attack Kor, but they can restrict and remove Kor from those suffering. They can direct the offensive attack Zaiphon Cor. 

07-Ghost and verloren 

According to the myth of the centuries-old, God of Death, verloren, 'killing' daughter Head Heaven and forced to flee to earth. In retribution, Verloren invaded the hearts of the people, and they slipped into despair. Lamenting the suffering of the people, Chief Heaven sent seven heavenly lights in order to punish verloren. Called the "Seven Ghosts", they are said to have closed verloren on earth and forever more as guard duty Empire. Mothers often tell their children that if they are naughty, the Seven Ghosts will come to take them away. 

Although verloren has been sealed away in Pandora's Box for over 1000 years, his messenger, Kor, find and contact humans to bring them under the influence. If a contract is made, a sign appears on the person's chest. This is known as the "curse verloren", and this indicates one's heart being eaten by darkness. One of the tasks of the "07-Ghosts" is to combat verloren and curse and try to stop contracts from being met. Only a bishop can remove the curse verloren's. 

The 07-Ghosts are embodied in humans with extraordinary abilities like "Zaiphon" that they are considered to be blessed by God. They were originally fragments verloren, and they descended to earth by the Chief of Heaven to stop verloren. Each of the 07-Ghosts has died in a previous life, and they all retain their memories of their past lives. Frau, Castor, Labrador, Fia Kreuz and Lance have been revealed to be Ghosts thus far, all of them have their ghost signs in their hands. Name The Ghost 'is Sichel / (Zehel), Fest, Profe, Landkarte / (Randkalt), Relikt, Ehe / (Ea), and Vertrag. Each ghost has a certain power (see below). 

Sichel / (Zehel) - 斩 魂 "the cutting spirit" (Frau, the Spirit who severs bonds, especially one's ties to misfortune) 

Fest - 系 魂 "binding spirit" (Castor, the Spirit who binds souls together) 

Profe - 言 魂 "speaking spirit" (Labrador, the Spirit of prophecy) 

Landkarte / (Randkalt) - 消魂 "fighting spirit" (unknown) 

Relikt - 遗 魂 "pass on the spirit" (Lance, Spirit saw someone last) 

Ehe / ara / (Ea) - 醒 魂 "spirit of awakening" (unknown) 

Vertrag - 契 魂 "the spirit of assurance" (FEA Kreuz, spirit who manipulates souls) 

             All 7 of the names derived from the German word (as did many in the name of the series); much confusion however, there has been speculation as to what the correct translation. 

Sichel / Zehel - more often appear as "Zehel" but the correct German translation is "Sichel" which means "sickle" or "scythe." Because the weapon is quite clear. 

Fest - a few times as well written as "Feste." Most likely refers to "ein feiern FEST" which means Germany to the / celebrate, what better way to bind people together? Feste in German means stronghold or fortress, probably referring to the ties and comradeship in the military alliance. 

Profe - a change of the word "Prophet" which has the same meaning in German and English. 

Landkarte / (Randkalt) - Perhaps the most contentious name. "Rand" in German means "edge" or "border," and "Kalt" means "cool." combination "Randkalt" instead of the actual word in German and most likely miss translation. Some believe that the correct translation is "Landcarte" which means "map." Name Landkarte consistent with the intended meaning "fighting spirit," because what is not on the map, may not exist at all. Seen in many wars with the city for land leveling and "put out" of the map. 

Relikt - meaning "relic" in German 

Ehe / (Ea) - usually appears as "Ea" is also not a word in the German language. Correct translation might be "Ehe" which means "age" or "marriage" in German. It also could become clearer when the character was officially introduced. An alternative translation could be "fig", which means "era" in German. 

Vertrag - means "contract" in German 

The Three Dreams 

When a person is given the life of Chairman of Heaven, they choose three dreams to complete during their lifetime. When all the dreams are given, their souls will be called back to the Chairman and reincarnation. However, when people are born they do not remember the dreams that they choose, and find the joy of life dream suspected. 

There are evil beings who want to disrupt this process, among them the verloren messengers, the Kor, who steal dreams and drag humans into darkness. When the first human dream given by Cor, one's heart becomes unstable and can not be satisfied no matter what he does. When given a second dream, the person falls into a state of starvation or addiction. When the third dream was given, the soul has been dissolved in the dark too much and becomes forever unable to return to Head Heaven. The Kor then takes the body, a body that is owned by all three dreams fulfilled by the Kor is called Wars, and they serve verloren. A dark wizard who can control the Wars is called Warsfeil. 

It is the duty of the church to protect people from the Kor, because of addiction is very difficult to remove. There are cases where a Cor desire not to give one of the three dreams, but it upsets the balance and the Kor may be punished for it. 

The Eyes of Mikhail and Raphael 

Eyes of Mikhail and Raphael are a set of sacred stone that can be inserted into the body and that allows the Archangel Mikhail and Raphael to descend into a host body for a limited time. They are not detected until they have their body's host, in which case the stone appeared in the hands of the host, the host's eyes changed color, and he became able to hold the power of the gods with Zaiphon. Before the storyline of "Ghost-07," Raggs Kingdom holds the royal family Mikhail Eye, and Eye Empire Barsburg holding Raphael. A pact was established between the two countries never to seize the other Eye, however, Barsburg Empire broke this pact ten years prior to the storyline. 

'Full use of the eye is not known, but so far, the Eye of Mikhail has been used to seal verloren original body in Pandora's Box, and Mata was said to be able to Raphael's soul verloren incarnated in the human body. 

 Style 

           Overall style for 07 Ghost fits into the fantasy manga genre. Although the plot seriously, there are plenty of comic relief story so often contain a mild tone. The characters are all complex, varied, and entertaining, and very emotional story. It is often debated, whether it is a shōnen or shōjo manga, because it has qualities that appeal to the demographic. 

"Character designs tend toward the kind of bishonen Even in our circle of bishops. [There are] rebellious rogue, character glasses, and a kind lolishouta. Though anxiety filled and mysterious storyline, the manga also includes quite a bit of humor from Teito and Mikage horseplay and quirks Our three bishops', and chibis and deformed expressions used for this scene. " 

Character Main Character 

 Teito Klein (テイトクラ Teito Kurain?) Voiced by: Mitsuki Saiga 

The protagonist of the story. His real name is Wahrheit Tiashe Raggs, son Weldeschtein Krom Raggs, and he was a prince of the former Raggs Kingdom, however, once entrusted with the Eye of Mikhail during the invasion by the Empire Barsburg, identity was hidden and he was raised by his uncle, Fea Kreuz, as a church orphan . After the death of Kreuz, he was made into a combat slave, but eventually entered the military academy and became known as Barsburg star pupil. He is smart and very talented student made him one of the best students, regardless of other students to mock him. 

At the beginning of the manga, Teito makes a promise with (and only) friend, Mikage, that they will always be there for each other. [4] Unfortunately, Mikage gave up his life to protect Teito from the Empire. It is destroying Teito emotionally and he swears revenge even though Mikage told him not to. In the Church District 7 he began studying to become a priest so that he can gain the pastor on his way to revenge: less stringent inspections at borders, access to information, and free room and board at any inn in the Empire. 

Teito is often teased because of his short stature by Mikage, Frau, and others who often treat him like a child or mistake him for one, which annoys him to the end. While training with Mikage using Zaiphon, Mikage even engraves 'chibi' word (small) to tease him. It is later revealed in a flashback that the reason for the shortness of it may be because he only took pills instead of eating proper meals while he was a slave and a student at a military school. 

At the beginning of the story, Teito is a cold and serious student because the only memories of being the only combat slave whose goal is to kill criminals. He initially cold to Mikage as well, although the two eventually became good friends. Surprisingly, according to the academy chairman, Miroku, Teito biggest weakness is his compassion, despite all the hardships she has been through. For example, during the military exam, when the need is to kill the condemned criminal in order to pass, Teito refused to do so, stating that there is no reason to do so, so that Ayanami intervened and killed the criminal mocking Teito for being weak instead. His compassion is more obvious as the manga takes place when he refused Mikhail control because he would kill Bastian (although Bastian will kill him), he gives a scarf he brought for Frau to a homeless old man, he tracked down Capella's mother and gives Capella back to her despite her attachment , and when he saved the life of someone who is possessed by the desire of the core and its sad. While he was a slave, he often saw other children with their mothers and do not recall ever having a family. The only people who care about him as a mute slave maid in the palace where she lived. Before leaving to go to military school, Teito brought her a feather, promising that someday she would be free as well. This is shown at the end of the flashback sequence that she still has the picture framed and displayed Teito saw dear. 

We later discovered that Teito was the heir to the throne of the Kingdom of Raggs, his real name being Wahrheit Tiashe Raggs. However, he was the son of a concubine, causing the queen to hate. He then made a deal to give the Pope and Teito's body to him. Pope seals Verloren's body within Teito, making him 'The Pandora's Box' (which seals verloren) and ship to a being a practical source of all evil on earth. King was not aware of this, because the queen and the pope build fake replica / body to make it seem like Teito had died after falling from the balcony, so as to hide the fact that he was appointed to the Pandora's Box. Their plan was foiled by Bishop Fia somewhat Kruez, or 'Father' that Teito is often referring to. He uses his power as one of the Seven Ghosts (Ghost Raggs God House of Representatives, Vertrag) to subdue verloren's body, while sealing. 

The identity of one of the Seven Ghosts must remain a secret, however, so nobody believes Fia Kruez against the pope said. This is the origin of the 'lie' (which Kruez unforgivable act of stealing Pandora's Box). To make sure Teito soul will not be overcome by what was sealed in him (body verloren) and thus save his life, the king makes Teito become a vessel of the Eye of Mikhail very early in life; Interestingly, Eye of Mikhail protects Teito from verloren as well be the one thing that can open Pandora's Box. At this time, the kingdom Barsburg attack Raggs Kingdom, under the impression that Raggs made a declaration of war since the messenger that Raggs sent to tell Barsburg about the Pope was killed, making Barsburg found Raggs stole Pandora's Box. 

This suggests that Kruez Fia is the sister of the King - making Teito blood uncle 'Father'. This explains why Kreuz has been around Teito since the beginning. It also brings up the possibility that Teito himself may become a Ghost, as he is the last of the lineage of the Raggs God House. 

Teito has a combat slave tattoo on his back that he get out queen jealous of him because the king favored him and not him (he's also not his to begin with so that just made matters worse). During his fight against Ayanami, he gets a slave collar around his neck. Then Frau accidentally invoked a blood contract when he tried to get the collar off, and become a 'master' Teito now. This allows him to use three commands that Teito must obey: Sleep, Bind, and Pain. In a humorous scene, Castor states that he should not have informed Frau about the commands, implying that Frau will be the possibility of abuse of this power. However, in reality, Frau just use the command 'Sleep', and it was only used twice and twice used as self-defense. collar will explode if Teito separates from Frau, the collar master, for more than 48 hours. 

Teito is very skilled with Bascules, exceeding the limit for it during training Zaiphon in one incident. [5] He is very agile and an excellent runner after trained with Castor's puppets, and successfully passed the exam on the first try with Hakuren. His slave number was 2741. This is hinted by Mikhail that Teito is the best vessel compared to other ships I have ever had in the past. 

In Hausen House Arc, Teito found from servant that Castor Castor, whose original name Xinglu, is actually dead and he could not understand why he saw Castor still alive that back to the church. Teito then attacked by the war in Xinglu mother's doll. Teito poses as Xinglu and forgive, then beat him Wars. As Teito left, Fest / Castor appeared and asked if Teito had the courage to accept the "curse" - that is, the first of seven 'cursed tickets' needed to reach the Land of Seele [6]. He then received a second from Profe / Labrador. 

Currently he is in the Empire Barsburg's District 5, first the Kingdom of Raggs. He met with the daughter of Imperial, owner of Eye Raphael, named Ouka. After being abducted by Lem, he found that he happened to go to one of the temple. He was surprised that the house held Profe. After Lem soul freed, Teito received the second cursed ticket and depart from Ouka after giving her doll in the church to thank you for the jewel she gave him, with them having to tell each other their names other real. 

Teito receives extra abilities because he is the master of Eye of Mikhail, advanced capabilities such hearing, the sixth sense, and many more say in her sleep. 

Teito is 5 foot 2, making it the smallest of the main characters in the anime, and weighs 43 kg. His birthday was December 1, and he was about 14-15 years old at the beginning of the story. He ranked first in the latest popularity poll in Monthly Comic Zero Sum.
